You? Young?

As youths, we have loads of energy and want to do many things. We share the vision and get so inspired and motivated. But the killer statement given to many of us is "You are just a youth. You can't do it one la..." But what if I told you even a kid can be a king?

Joash proved this statement wrong. At the age of 8, Joash became Judah's king. Now, if we read the book of Kings, we see that many of the kings did evil in God's sight. Let's look at what did the author of Kings write about King Joash.

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned for thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother was Jedidah, daughter of Adaiah, from Bozkath. He did what the Lord approved and followed in his ancestor David’s footsteps; he did not deviate to the right or the left. (2 Kings 22:1-2)

another translation wrote that "... Joash did what was proper in the eyes of the Lord." Read on until chapter 23:30 and you will see the wonders that Joash did for God. He repaired the temple, found, read and obeyed the book of the law, tore down idols, destroyed Jeroboam's calves, loved God with all his heart and walked in the ways of David! A young boy who became king yet had God's favor and did great things to reform Judah.

Who says young people can't do great things? Now is the time for this generation to rise up and impact the world with the gospel! Let us learn from King Joash. A young kid that became king and proved everyone wrong by bringing reform to Israel and walked in the ways of the Lord, something that many of the Israelite kings did not manage to do. Make a difference!
